Make known the wisdom of God
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6"

Beginning January 2008 the Church embarked on a five year plan which will take us up to 2013. Over the next few years we will be working fervently towards having a congregation that is able to fully support its minister/ministers and other members of staff. With God's help we are confident that together we can build a congregation that will be a model for other Churches of Christ in Jamaica and the Caribbean. It is our desire that within the next 10-15 years we can grow a congregation that will be able to appoint elders and deacons to carry on the work of the Church. We are working towards a congregation that will take the study of the bible and teaching of the gospel of Christ through personal evangelism seriously. We recognize that both men and women play an important part in the growth and development of the Lord's Church so we are focused on making sure that our brothers and sisters realize their full potential in Christ where the scriptures permit. We are also cognizant of the fact that the Church has a responsibility to effect change in the society we live in. Therefore we are working towards establishing a learning centre operating during the week and at the Church building. We want to utilize the skills of our members especially our teachers to help lift the social status of the community through education. Future plans include liaising with institutions such as Heart Trust NTA, Lift up Jamaica Foundation and other institutions that are focused on changing the quality of people's lives through education. We realize that the greatest asset that the Church has is our young people. The future of this congregation and the Church in Jamaica will be seen in the investment that we are willing to make in them today. Over the last few years we have invested significantly in sending young people from the congregation to youth camp from which we have had a number of conversions, therefore we have made youth camp a part of the annual budget of the congregation. There is a special scholarship account established for the sole purpose of helping to provide young people of the congregation with quality education. We hope that in time this fund will grow to the point where we can provide assistance for education from the Kindergarten up to University level. There are also plans in the pipeline to establish a homework centre and an after school care facility at the Church building. Our future plans also include the establishing of a modern library equip with books (biblical and non-biblical) various research materials and modern technology such as computers, internet and audio visual equipment. It is also in our plans to have our weekly services aired on the local cable station and over the internet; it is also our intention that the sermon of the day will be made available on CD's to our visitors and members weekly. This is a congregation that believes that in order for persons to be effective and maximize their potential training is necessary. Therefore we are committed to sparing no expense in making sure that those who serve this congregation are adequately trained whether male or female. We want to build persons who will not only make a difference in the Church but also in their families and the wider society. As members of this congregation we are aware of the possibility that many of these plans will not come to fruition in our lifetime, what we are focusing on is laying a proper foundation for the Church so that even after we are long gone from this earth the work of the Church will continue through a leadership that has a clear vision. We believe that with God's help all things are possible and there is no doubt that there is much that we can do and will do for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. As we go forth with this mission given to us by God we continue to solicit the prayers of the brethren here in Jamaica and our sister congregations aboard. Pray that as we seek to grow the Church in this area that we may remain true to the teachings of Jesus Christ and to always seek the wisdom of the Almighty God in the decisions that we make. May God continue to shower His blessings in our lives as we work and look forward to coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In Christian Love South Central Church of Christ Paul A.
